JJ Foley Exhibit Sunday, January 31st, 2010 - Call For Times JJ Foley'e exhibit will be on display at the Lucile Parker Gallery on the William Carey Campus. Foley draws and paints people. Those works - mostly oil, with a few mixed media and quilted works thrown in - are not portraits, and often they're not even modeled on identifiable people. Come out to see the figure paintings. Native Guard Exhibit Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Rare pieces of Mississippi's Civil War history will be on display at the African American Military History Museum during February. "The Native Guard: A Photographic History of Ship Island's African American Regiment" tells the history of the 2nd Regiment of the Louisiana Native Guards serving on Ship Island in the Mississippi Sound during the Civil War. The exhibit will be open to the public, free of charge, during normal museum hours. For more information about the exhibit, call 450-1942 or visit www.hattiesburguso.com.
Conossieurs Chamber Music Series Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 - 7:30 pm The University of Southern Mississippi School of Music  is offering a free concert to lovers of music. Centennial Museum Exhibit Friday, February 5th, 2010 - 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Throughout 2010, The University of Southern Mississippi will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of its legislative founding. In just 100 short years, Southern Miss has grown from a local teaching college into a nationally-known institution of higher learning that educates thousands of students at multiple locations every year. The Centennial museum will be a temporary exhibit which will be open from Feb. 1 – Dec. 31, 2010. It will feature historic memorabilia from Southern Miss’ last 100 years and provides a great look at the evolution of the institution over the last century. The exhibit is located on the first floor of Cook Library on the University of Southern Miss Campus. The Museum is open Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 1pm-6pm.
