Saenger Theatre
Listed on the National Register of Historic
Places, this elegant, 1,000-seat, Art Deco style movie palace was
designed by famed New Orleans architect Emil Weil and opened on
Thanksgiving Day in 1929. A part of the Saenger Brothers’ chain of
movie palaces throughout the South, the theatre is a crowning jewel
for Historic Downtown.
